TRACK DAY TRAINING COURSE - run by Bike2Bike at Mondello Park -
Why are we running these courses? 70% of motorcyclists are riding on provisional licenses and many would like the opportunity to take part on our track days but cannot. Who can attend? Anyone over 16 years of age or (13 years with a race licence). Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign for them. They must have “their own bike” which must be at least 125cc (no Scooters). In addition, anyone who has a full bike licence, but may be nervous of attending a track day the course is an ideal opportunity to over come any apprehension they may have. Who is doing the training? The training is by Bike2Bike who are Irelands leading rider training organisation. What happens on the day? Day runs from 8.30am to 5.00pm Lunch 12 till 1.00pm Students should Arrive from 8:15am and no later than 8:45am for registration If raining day will continue What does the course consist of ? - Registration - Classroom briefing - Slow speed control manoeuvres - Braking techniques - Lunch - Classroom briefing - Track time Instructor demonstration - Imitation by participants - Corrective demonstration - Final Assessment - Questions and answers - Awarding of certificates Students will be continuously assessed over the course of the day and attending does not mean you will automatically qualify to take part in future track days. Students must show they have the ability and skills required. What happens if I pass? If the student passes they will receive a certificate from Bike 2 Bike confirming this. In the week following the course Mondello Park will issue the individuals with a membership card with all their details on it and a track day membership number which they should then quote when booking in on a track day. How much is the course and how do I attend ? The course fee is €125.00 and you can only attend if you have pre-booked with the Mondello Park office. What clothing is acceptable? Textile protective clothing or leathers, motorcycle boots, gloves and helmet. We also highly recommend back and chest protectors.
